What is CEREC?

CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics.  Translated, it means that a dentist can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.  From simple fillings to full crowns to veneers, CEREC delivers the result you need in a single appointment.

How does the instrument work?

The dentist preps the tooth as he or she normally would.  However, instead of waiting for the goop to harden in your mouth to get the impression, the dentist uses a 3D camera to "take" an accurate picture, which allows us to customize the shape of restoration to EXACTLY fit your needs.  The image is then sent to the in-office milling machine to create this restoration (crown, veneer) while you wait.  It is polished and then permanently inserted.  No need for a temporary. -- No need for a second visit to cement permanently!  You are back to whatever it is you'd rather be doing!
